Early Life

The great personality who had a lot of courage in the heart was born in 1986 in Patna. His father's name was Mr K.K Singh and his mother's name was Usha Singh. His mother died in 2002. He was very much connected to his mother. So, he was disturbed by the death of his mother. Finally, they decided to move from Patna to Delhi. His sister, Mitu Singh is a state-level Cricketer.

Education

He studied from ST. Karen's High School in Patna and Kulachi Hansraj Model School in New Delhi. He was very intelligent in his studies. He had ranked seventh in all India in the DCE entrance exam in 2003. He was able to get admission in Delhi College of Engineering for Bachelor's degree in Engineering. He also won Physics Olympiad. He was an extraordinary student.

His Break

When he was studying in Delhi college of Engineering he joined Shiamak Dance Classes. Then, he was selected as a member of Davar's Standard Troupe. He was a very good dancer. He also provided tuition to students as a part-time job.
But day by day his grades become lower and lower. Because his attention was shifted towards dance instead of study. Due to his bad performance to his study, his father asked him to choose either study or dance. But as he was attracted to dance, he chose to dance. He completed his three years in Engineering college and then he dropped out of the college.
In 2005, he was chosen as a background dancer in the 51st Filmfare Awards. In 2006, he performed in the ceremony of commonwealth games.
He wanted to move his career towards acting. So he moved to Mumbai and joined Nadira Babbar's Ekjute theatre group, he learned a lot from this group. He left this group after two and a half years.

As a star

He was spotted by the secretary of Ekta Kapoor who is the producer of Balaji telefilms. He gave him the opportunity to work with Balaji telefilms.
In 2008, he debuts from a show Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil as a role of Preet Junya.
In June 2009, he began starring in Pavitra Rishta as Manav Deshmukh. This was a big break for Sushant Singh Rajput.
In May 2010, he joined a dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4.

Filmography

He did an acting course from foreign to do well in acting in movies. Then he auditioned for a movie of Abhishek Kapoor Kai Po Che! and was selected to play one of three leads along with Rajkumar Rao and Amit Sadh.
He did a second movie i.e Sudh Desi Romance.
His next role was in Rajkumar Hirani's 2014 film PK.
In 2015, his sole release was Dibakar Banerjee's mystery thriller Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!
In 2016, he appeared in Neeraj Pandey's biographical sports film MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, in the lead role of the Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
In 2018, he appeared in Kedarnath.
In 2019, he appeared in Sonchiriya.
He appeared in Chhichhore which was directed by Nitesh Tiwari and was released on 6 September 2019.

Death

The actor was found dead in his apartment on 14th June 2020. The police have confirmed that he was died by suicide. No 'note' was found in his residence. But his father did not believe that his child can do a thing like this. Because according to him he was very brave. Now, the case is deal with CBI.
