Birth life

The richest person in the world was born on 12 January 1964, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is the son of Jacklyn Gise, Jorgensen (mother), and Ted Jorgensen.
At that time of his birth, his mother was just 17- years old and studied in the school and his father was a bike shop owner. His father left his mother and they took divorced from each other. Her mother then took a second marriage with Mike Bezos in April 1968.

Early life

Jeff Bezos told about his childhood that his childhood was very nice despite the thing that Mike Bezos was not his biological father. His father loved him and took care of him a lot in his childhood. His new father and mother have a good relationship. So his childhood spends with calmness. He even told that his father's good nature is also a reason for his success.

Education

His family moved to Houston, Texas where his father worked as an engineer. Bezos studied from River Oaks Elementary School in Houston from fourth to sixth grade. He was totally an extraordinary student. He started his first business, the "Dream Institute" an educational summer camp for fourth, fifth, and sixth grades.
When his father worked in the garage he took some instrument from his father tried to do the same as his father. In fact, at a very small age, he observed his father carefully in the garage and took an interest in his work.
His family moved to Miami, Florida where Bezos attended Miami Palmetto High School. He worked at Mc Donald's for a short time as a part-time job.

His Career

He pursued his career in computers from Princeton University, where he graduated summacumlaude in 1986 and got a degree in computer science and electrical engineering.
After completion of his graduation, a lot of offers welcomed him from very big firms. He started doing work in Fintact, also he did work in the banking sector where he learned about wall street and D.E shaw.
He became the fourth senior vice-president of DE shaws at the age of 30.

Amazon

He had two options at that time. He achieved something big or worked in the company in which he already earned a lot of money and got retired after a few years and live his whole life with the money that he earned. But as obvious he chose to do something big in his life. He wanted to stand his own business. He thought to merge the internet and commerce industry. This idea was very unique at that time.
In 1994, he left his job at D.E Shaw where he earns millions of rupees. He decided to start an online business and founded "Amazon" in his garage on 5 July 1994. He wanted some investors for his company but at that time the only for was in his support because he already told that in his business there are 70% chances of loss and 30% chances of profit. But he knew very well if his business grew at starting than know when should stop him. As he was a true man he told all the things honestly to all the investors.
He made his software Amazon.com, named after the Meandering South River with his 300 friends on 16 July 1995.
He initiated his company by selling books across the United States and 45 foreign countries within 30 days. And his success was meteoric, without any press promotion. In two months he sales a lot of books and his sales reached $20,000 a week. His company was growing so fastly and his setup team was not even expected.
At starting his company's name was Cadabra but later he changed it to Amazon by the name of the Amazon river in South America.
After books, in 1998, he started to sell music players, DVDs, videos, and these things were famous too by the end of the year. In a very short time of three years, his company becomes an Initial Public Offering (IPO). By the end of the year, he expanded his business by selling a variety of consumer goods. As his company became public offering a lot of investors purchased his shares.
👉In 2002, he launched Amazon Web services, related to weather channels.
👉In 2000, he borrowed $2 billion from banks as his company dipped to only 350 million. After the company nearly went bankrupt and laid off 14% of the Amazon workforce.
👉In 2003, the company rebounded from financial instability and turned a profit of $400 million.
👉In November 2007, his profit rises to 107% which is even double investment.
He launched a blue origin in 2007.

India

In 1995 his turnover was $510,000 and jumped in 2011 his turnover was $17 billion. Now his turnover is in a trillion.
The vice president of Amazon Amit Agarwal came to India to expand his business in India in March 2018. He came to India with $5.5 billion to localize operations throughout the company's chain routes.

His success

His company Blue origin was established in 2007 (a Seattle based aerospace company). This company offers his customers a trip to space.
He purchased "The Washington Post" and some other publications affiliated with its parent company. He made headlines all over the world by doing so. Because it was a very big publication and the public thought that Bezos run this publication according to him and this is a violation of "Freedom of Speech". But he clarified that they want to innovate it and not want to earn some kind of profit from publication.
He again made headlines in December 2013, when he launched "Amazon Prime Air" in which he delivered services to customers using drones.

As a leader

When candidate interviewing for jobs at Amazon he considers three inquiries that can admire the person, can the person raise the common standard and under what circumstances could the person became exemplary.
He meets his investors for a total of only six hours a year. Instead of using power points, he requires high-level employees to present information with six-page narratives. He took queries on his email address "Jeff@amazon.com". Because he thought that if he solves only a single one query then automatically it will solve for thousands of people. He wanted to take care of his customers on his own. 
He only worked for eight hours and attended all his urgent meeting before lunch. He took a sleep of 8 to10 hours. Because he thought that a night of good sleep made new innovative ideas. And when he gets up in the morning with the fresh mind he boosted towards work. He thought that don't take the burden of any kind of work. But do work with hard work and patience. In interviews, he told about his success mantras that he understands his customers as God, he always wants to invent something new, he did not think of money, he only wanted to help people by his work. He also told that "Do any work with patience and you will definitely get success."
When he went to his office with a fresh mind his employees feel cheerful and a happy atmosphere creates all around.

Wealthiest person

In October 2016, his wealth increased by $16.2 billion to $66.5 billion, and ranked third richest person in the world after Bill Gates and Warren Buffet.
In March 2018, Bezos was officially designated the wealthiest person in the world with a net worth of $112 billion.
In July 2018, he was designated the "wealthiest person in modern history." He ranked first in Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Fortune Market Watch, The Wall Street Journal, and Forbes.
