Early life

Rohit Sharma was born on 30 April 1987 in Bansad, Nagpur, Maharashtra. His mother Purnima Sharma a housewife and his father Gurunath Sharma worked as a caretaker of a transport firm storehouse. His family was not in good condition due to which he had to live with his grandfather and uncles in Borivali. His coach advised him to join a school in which he was able to pursue his cricket career. He joined a cricket camp in 1999. In his school, he played very well and scored a century in his debut match in the "Harris and Giles Shield" school cricket tournament.

His Debut

His coach provided him scholarship by which he joined the best school for his cricket training. He made the Central Zone in the Deodhar Trophy in March 2005 at Gwalior. He made 142 runs in 123 balls against North Zone in the same tournament. He made his international debut in July 2006 against New Zealand. He made his debut in Ranji Trophy in 2006-7 and scored 205 off 267 balls.

As a king in ODI

He was selected in a limited-overs match in 2007 in India's tour to Ireland, but he was not able to get the opportunity to play there.
He played against South Africa in 2007 in ICC World Twenty-20 and scored 50 off 40 balls which earmarked the victory of India.
In the 2007-08 Common Wealth Bank Series in Australia, he scored 235 runs. He debuts in the Indian Test team in February 2010. On 28 May 2010, he made his ODI Century against Zimbabwe.
In his test debut, he made 177 runs which were the second-best score on the debut by Indian Cricketer.
In 2014, he scored 264 runs against Srilanka in ODI.
On 2 October 2015, he scored 106 runs in HPCA Stadium in South Africa's tour and he was chosen as the man of the match.
In the 2015-16 tour of Australia, he scored a total of 441 runs in all the five matches and was selected as the man of the series. In December 2017 in Mohali, he scored 208 runs (his third double century) not out, as the captain.
