Birth life

Bill Gates was born in Seattle, Washington on 28 October 1955. His father was William H. Gates and his mother was Mary Maxwell Gates. His father served as a lawyer and his mother served as a board of directors for First Interstate Banc System and the United Way. His mother was very genius and inspiration for Bill Gates. His mother had a very combative and dynamic nature. She took part in all the activities. Whereas his father had a very calm nature.

His mother as the biggest inspiration

He loved his mother. According to him, his mother was his ideal. When his mother was died he break in completely.
His mother firstly served as a teacher and then devoted herself to raise her children.
Bill Gates was a genius from his birth. He always studied in the best schools and colleges. When he decided to take a drop out of his college, at first his mother was not agreed but later she gave permission to his child to leave the college and expand the business.
His mother knew personally the CEO of IBM (International Business Machines). She took Bill with her when she volunteered in schools and at community organizations.
In fact, his first deal was signed with the help of his mother. All these events proved that his mother was very supportive and helped him in each and every perspective.

His School life

As from his childhood he showed signs of excellence in all the fields, his family clearly understood that Bill was God gifted to them.
At the age of 13, he studied in Lakeside School which was the best private school in Seattle. He loved Mathematics and computer programming. He always played games of monopoly and always won. But he had an abrupt behavior.
His mother provided a computer to the school. At that time he developed an interest in the computer. He spent a lot of time working on the terminal. By studying Mathematics, Computer programming, reading books, he wrote a tic-tac-toe program in Basic Computer language that allowed users to play against the computer.
He met Paul Allen in his school which was also a genius and his senior. They became close friends and fought with each other too. At the end of school, they got separated from each other. They both worked on the computer together. They had a good relationship because they knew that both needed each other.

His grades

As usual Bill Gates had an outstanding score. He graduated from Lakeside in 1973. And scored 1590 out of 1600 on the college SAT tests score was outstanding he was able to take admission in the best college i.e Harvard College in 1973. He still spent a lot of time on his school computers.

Friendship with Paul Allen

After completing the school they got separated. But they again meet with each other.
The MITS Altair 8800 was released at that time. They both saw this as the opportunity to develop their own computer software company. But Bill thought that if he focused on software development then it affect his studies.
Bill decided to get dropout of his Harvard college. As his parents were very supportive and they agreed when they saw their child start his own business.
They both are close friends despite the thing that they both had different behavior.
Bill had abrupt behavior and he was very feisty whereas Allen was very shy and introverted. They both spent all the free time together working on programs. They had a lot of debates and fought with each other. But all these fights did not stop them and they work together continuously.

Birth of Microsoft

Gates and Allen wanted to start their own company. At that time, the Altair was made by a small company in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The president of the Altair computer was ED Roberts. Bill started doing work for ED Roberts. But it was not easy for Bill to do work because ED Roberts always disagreed with the ideas of Bill. It created some problems but Bill ignored and focused on his work. But after some time, ED Roberts sold his company and leave the city, too.
Both Bill and Paul spent his next two years in writing the software at Harvard's computer lab.
On 26 November 1976, they founded Microsoft, the word "Microsoft" was registered with the office of the secretary of the state of New Mexico.
In February 1976, Gates wrote an open letter in which he asserted that "more than 90 percent of the users of Microsoft Altairs Basic had not paid Microsoft for it and by doing so the Altair "hobby Market" was in danger of eliminating the incentive for any professional developers to produce, distribute and maintain high-quality software".
In 1976, Microsoft became independent from MITS. On 1 January 1979, he shifted his company to Washington.

His first contract with IBM

As Bill's mother Mary was highly respected and well connected with IBM. Bill asked his mother to set a meeting with the CEO of IBM. And it was through Mary that Bill met the CEO of IBM.
At that time IBM looks for the software that would operate their personal computer and they approached Bill Gates. Bill Gates was too young with a short height. They considered him as a child but Bill quickly impressed IBM. He told them that he fulfills all the needs of their company.
Gates started making software, IBM wanted to know the source code. Gates refused, instead proposing the IBM pay a licensing free. Bill Gates delivered the software for a $50,000 fee.
Later they released the software "Softcard".
By working with IBM, it allowed them to license the software they called MS-DOS.
In 1983, Microsoft earned a profit of 30% of the World's computers running on its software. Microsoft set up his office in Great Britain and Japan.
Later the competition became too tough as Apple came into the market. Because Apple had a graphic user interface.
Then, Microsoft decided to give a graphic user interface in its software.

Microsoft's rivalry with Apple 

In 1981, Apple was launched and Steve Jobs invited Microsoft to help to develop software for Macintosh computers.
Bill Gates saw that Apple had a Graphic user interface and better technical programs. He also saw a system that used a mouse to drive a graphic interface, displaying text and images on the screen.
Bill Gates then developed new software that had a graphic interface "Windows."
In 1985, two years after his announcement he launched Windows. But the Windows looked similar to the Macintosh system Apple computer corporation.

As a Business leader

His first version was launched on 20 November 1985. He then developed OS/2 software with IBM. His first version was not that much success. But later he launched MS Word, MS Excel, MS Office. All these software gave him success.
He worked very hard for his success and worked for more than 15 hours a day in his office. He always looking over his shoulder to check on the competition. He developed a white-hot drive and competitive spirit. He always wanted the same dedication in his employees that he had.
His employees are not that happy with him. If an employee presented an unprepared project he told: "That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard!" On listening to these words his employees felt very angered as they spent a lot of time on the project and they did not get any appreciations. Bill Gates told me that if your project is best according to you then convinced me to apply it. His working strategy was very different from others.
In 1989, Microsoft introduced Microsoft Office, which bundled office productivity. His new version of Windows sold 100,000 copies in just two weeks and OS/2 soon faded.

Established Monopoly

The Federal Trade Commission began to investigate Microsoft for unfair marketing practices. Because all the businesses were destroyed due to the monopoly of Bill Gates. He ruled all over the World with his Windows. No one even stood in front of him with his business.
Microsoft faced a string of Federal Trade Commission and Justice Department investigation. Microsoft had allegations that it made unfair deals with computer manufacturers. who installed the Windows Operating system on their computer.
He had also suffered from the charges that their company had the condition for selling the Windows operating system with their computers.
But later he agreed to charge only on his Windows and redeemed himself from all the charges.

His personal life

On 1 January 1994, Bill Gates married Melinda on a golf course on the Hawaiian island of Lanai. Bill needed a girl who was a genius, balanced, and all his demands were fulfilled by Melinda as she was the complete package as a girl that was searched by Bill Gates. They have three children; Jennifer Katharine, Rory John, and Phoebe Adele. She helped in business too.
His family lives in a modern design mansion, which is on the side of a hill overlooking Lake Washington State. His mansion is in the earth's shelter as was completely covered with nature.
According to a report, the total cost of his property is $125 Million and annual taxes are $991,000. There is a pol with an underwater music system, gem, and a dining room.
He launched a private foundation in 2000 named Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF0).
His present net worth is $93.2 Billion. In 2013, his foundation becomes the wealthiest charitable foundation with assets reportedly valued at more than $34.6 Billion.

His achievements

He got the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016. Padma Bhusan in 2015. National Medal of Technology and Innovation in 1992. Lasker-Bloomberg Public service Award in 2013. Silver Buffalo Award in 2010. Bower Award for Business Leadership in 2010. Bambi-Millennium Award in 2013. Distinguished Fellow of the British Computer Society (DFBSC) in 1994. Sattelite special achievement award for outstanding contribution to entertainment New Media in 1997.
